About

Salinas Circle began

In 1966 as the Salinas Circle of the Florence Crittenton Home, a nonsectarian maternity home. It was our privilege to aid the home through our fund raising projects.

When the Florence Crittenton Home became more of a day care service, the Salinas Circle members felt our monetary assistance could be better used for the children in our own community.

In 1972

Our name was changed to Salinas Circle for Children, for the purpose of helping children with special needs in Monterey County.

Through our fund raising efforts, money has been donated to local schools and to special needs programs. In addition, dental care, hearing aid repairs, air purifiers, and purchases of necessities have been made for individual children from a special fund.

Over $510k in 50 Years

The Salinas Circle for Children is proud to say that over the past 50 years we have raised more than $510,000 for children with special needs in Monterey County, with the help of many generous and hardworking women.

Sometimes all one needs is vision and passion to create action ~ an accomplishment that will have a positive influence on many individuals. The founders of Salinas Circle for Children, had just such passion and vision.

Today

More than ever the importance of a child’s ability to thrive in their living and learning environment is essential to their development. This is especially true for the child with special needs.

Salinas Circle for Children is proud of our continuing efforts to raise monies that are used to purchase adaptive materials, replace outdated equipment, purchase assessment and intervention materials, and provide new technology which help teachers and parents with the most current and best practice treatments for children with all levels of disability.

The Salinas Circle for Children has touched many young lives and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars because of the dedication of our loyal volunteers, our generous donors, and most importantly, our patrons who continue to attend and support our fundraising events.

We continue to search for exciting new fundraising ventures and energetic volunteers who will embrace our goals and visions for the future.
